Getting started

How do I sign in to Bconic?

Use Sign in at the top of any page and enter your workspace. You can type your workspace code on its own, or paste any link from inside your workspace, and we'll take you there.

Every workspace has its own address in the form app.yourcode.smb.bconic.com. Bookmark it to skip this step next time.

I don't know my workspace URL. What should I do?

Ask your workspace admin: it's the address they use to reach Bconic. If you're the admin, or nobody on your team knows, get in touch and we'll point you to the right place.

What happens after we sign up?

Our team works with you to connect your channels and data sources, check the data is complete, and agree which questions matter most to you. Once the data is flowing, your attribution, incrementality and marketing mix modelling results all appear in the same workspace.

Connecting your data

Which channels and data sources can I connect?

Bconic brings together your paid media (such as Meta, Google and TikTok), owned channels like email, and the sales or conversion data you measure success by. If a source you rely on isn't connected yet, tell us and we'll look at the best way to bring it in.

How much historical data do I need?

More history gives the models more to learn from, particularly marketing mix modelling, which looks for patterns across seasons and changes in spend. We'll review what you have during onboarding and tell you what's possible with it.

Why don't my numbers match what the ad platforms report?

Each platform counts the conversions it can see and credits itself, so the same sale is often claimed by several channels at once. Bconic measures every channel against the same outcome data, which is why its totals line up with your actual sales and the platform figures usually add up to more.

Attribution

What does attribution tell me?

Attribution follows the touchpoints that lead to a conversion and shares the credit between them, so you can see which channels and campaigns are contributing day to day.

Why does Bconic use attribution, incrementality and MMM together?

Each method answers a different question. Attribution is fast and detailed but only sees trackable journeys. Incrementality tests show what a channel truly caused. Marketing mix modelling covers every channel, including offline, over the long run. Using them together gives you one view you can trust, rather than three reports that disagree.

Incrementality testing

What is an incrementality test?

An incrementality test compares a group that sees your marketing with a similar group that doesn't. The difference in results is the lift your marketing caused: the sales that wouldn't have happened without it.

How long does a test need to run?

Long enough to separate a real effect from normal week-to-week noise. That depends on your spend, how many conversions you get and how big an effect you're looking for. We'll help you design each test so it can give a clear answer.

Marketing mix modelling

What is marketing mix modelling?

Marketing mix modelling (MMM) uses your historical spend and sales to estimate how much each channel contributes, including channels you can't track click by click, such as TV, audio or out of home. It also accounts for things outside marketing, like seasonality.

What are diminishing returns, and why do they matter?

Every channel eventually gives you less for each extra dollar you spend. MMM estimates where that happens for each channel, so you can see where more budget would still pay off and where it's better moved elsewhere.
